Dr. Amrendra Kumar Roy

He completed his PhD in medicinal chemistry from Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow in 2005 and joined Amrendra Kumar Roy, PhD Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (DRL) in PR&D department. It was there he was given the task of implementing DoE in PR&D. he is active in this field for almost 7 years. Before starting his free lancing career he was working as an associate director, in Process Engineering Excellence where he was heading the Six Sigma cell. His major responsibility was to support the process development using QbD, application of statistical tools in tackling the plant issues. But was most interested in improving the yield of age old APIs using Six Sigma approach. Another thing that he like is to train people on DoE. His major interest is in the application of statistical tools in understanding the reaction pathway and identifying the source of an impurity in a given reaction. In addition to he possess Six Sigma Black Belt certification from ASQ and MBA from NMIMS. He has received many laurels, some of which are Dr. M.M. Dhar Memorial Prize-2005 for Best Thesis in Chemical Sciences by Central Drug Research Institute, Chairman’s Excellence award at Dr Reddys for the Application of statistical tools in solving chemistry problem. He is also a regular speaker at CPHI conferences and has published research articles on QbDandDoEandfewof themare among the most read articles.
